Refund Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026
Read this before placing an order. Once a VPS is delivered we cannot issue a refund — we pay the upstream provider on your behalf at the moment of provisioning and that charge is non-reversible.
⚠ Important — please read before you pay
Once a VPS is delivered, the order is final and non-refundable. If this is your first time ordering from us, please start with a low-cost plan (1vCPU / 1GB / 10GB for around $2) to verify the service, network quality, and our workflow meet your needs. Only then should you place larger or higher-tier orders.
1. No Refund After Delivery
The moment a VPS is successfully provisioned at the upstream datacenter, the order becomes final. VolkNode settles payment with the provider at provisioning time, and that transaction cannot be reversed on our side. This applies to:
- Any VPS order that has been provisioned with a live IP, regardless of whether you used it.
- Any renewal that has been applied to an existing VPS.
- Any add-on that has been consumed within the billing period.
If you are not sure whether a plan or location suits your use case, order the smallest plan first (1vCPU / 1GB / 10GB, approximately $2 / month) and only upgrade or move up once you have verified that it works for you.
2. Pre-Delivery Refunds
A refund IS available in the narrow window between placing an order and the server being provisioned, or when we cannot deliver at all. Specifically:
- Provisioning failed and we cannot resolve it within 24 hours (e.g. the selected datacenter is out of stock and no alternative suits you). You receive the full amount back to your wallet or original payment method.
- Order placed in error but not yet provisioned. Contact us immediately — if the server has not been created we can cancel and refund in full.
- Duplicate payment for the same order (e.g. a double-charge by the gateway). We refund the extra charge.
3. Service Credits
For incidents affecting a running VPS, we issue credits (added to your wallet) instead of cash refunds:
- Downtimebeyond our 99.9% monthly uptime target that wasn’t caused by your own misconfiguration or upstream maintenance we pre-announced.
- Confirmed datacenter outages of more than 60 minutes.
Credit is calculated as: (hours of outage / hours in the billing cycle) × your paid amount. Credits post to your wallet within 7 business days of approval and can be used toward any future order or renewal.
4. What is NOT Refundable
- Any VPS that has been provisioned, even if unused.
- Renewals and recurring billing cycles once applied.
- Add-ons consumed within the billing period (extra IPs, snapshots, licensed OS images).
- Services terminated for abuse, fraud, or Terms of Service violations.
- Wallet top-ups once they have been used to pay for any order or renewal — unused wallet balance is refundable per section 5.
- Crypto payments that lost value after conversion — we refund the USD amount we received, not the crypto amount you sent.
5. Unused Wallet Balance
You can request a refund of unused wallet balance at any time while your account is in good standing. Processing fees from the original payment gateway (typically 2–4%) may be deducted. Crypto refunds are processed back in the same currency at the current market rate. Wallet credits issued by us (service credits, promotions) are not refundable as cash — they only apply against future invoices.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before opening a chargeback — we can usually resolve any legitimate dispute directly and faster. Accounts with unresolved chargebacks are suspended until the dispute is closed; repeated fraudulent chargebacks result in permanent account termination and forfeiture of all remaining balance.
7. How to Request a Refund
Only submit if your situation falls under section 2, 3, or 5 above. Open a ticket from your dashboard (Dashboard → Support) under the Billing department, or email support@volknode.com with:
- Your account email.
- The order number (
VN-YYYYNNNNN) or invoice number. - A short description of the issue — for downtime credits, include the dates/times affected.
We aim to respond within 24 hours. Approved pre-delivery refunds to cards typically clear in 3–7 business days; crypto refunds, within 24 hours of approval.
